The brand of Tehzeeb Bakers in Pakistan is now standing on its own strong feet.
But it has a long history from its all started.
Chaudry Hakeemuddin Noon was living and working in Shimla in the pre-partition days of India-Pakistan.
He was working at Roti Godown in Shimla and used to make and bake excellent rotis (bread) and other related baked items.
He created a special taste in the things he made and baked.
People used to come from near and far to get his hand-made items.
Hakeemuddin also loved what he used to do, and his passion always showed in the things he baked.
The word spread like wildfire, and he was becoming popular at the place. But as luck would have it, in 1947, India and Pakistan were partitioned and become two separate countries.
Hakeemuddin and his family decided to migrate to Pakistan. They came to Rawalpindi and started settling in the city which was small and scantily populated.
And the choice was obvious as far as his experience and passion were concerned.
He started his first bakery ‘Shimla Bakery’ in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.
It worked successfully for a few initial years.
At that time in the 1950s, another bakery brand ‘Rahat Bakers’ was also coming up big in Lahore.
Hakeemuddun and his sons then thought of collaboration and joined hands with Rahat Bakers to start a branch of Rahat Bakers in Rawalpindi. This was mostly managed by the Hakeemuddin sons.
But this journey did not go very well. Eventually they parted ways from Rahat Bakery Brand.
The next generation of Hakeemnuddin planned to launch their own new brand with the name of ‘Tehzeeb’ in the early 1990s in Rawalpindi.
The Tehzeeb Bakers did very well due to the very good quality of the items and the pricing.
It soon picked up and became one of the leading bakery brands in Rawalpindi Town.
Later, in the early 2000s, the Tehzeeb Bakers expanded and opened their new branch in the Blue Area of Islamabad. It instantly became a big hit.
Now Tehzeeb Bakers has several branches including the recently opened in Lahore at MM Alam Road.
This branch in Lahore witnessed the big queues of crowd to buy the merchandise from the bakery when it opened its doors.
The impressive success of Tehzeeb Bakers has four main ingredients in it.
- The passion of the owners
- The commitment to supreme quality
- Differentiation in products offering
- Right pricing
The Tehzeeb Bakers phenomenon has become unstoppable.
Recently, they have launched their own Tomato Ketchup brand 'Kanas' by Tehzeeb Bakers which is available in their stores.
Mr. Usman Khalil Noon is the current CEO of the Kanas and Tehzeeb, who is the third generation and the grandson of Chaudhry Hakeemudddin Noon.
He is a foreign educated person in culinary arts from France, and comes with full passion to further grow and expand the Tehzeeb Bakers brand locally and globally.
Tehzeeb Bakers is renowned for its consistent and high-quality products.
Surprisingly, the taste and aroma of their products have remained unchanged for over several years, which is truly remarkable.
Their extensive menu includes a wide range of items such as biscuits, cakes, salads, snacks, pastries, pizza, sandwiches, donuts, Arabian sweets, cookies, and various types of bread.
Tehzeeb Bakery prides itself on always serving freshly baked goods of superior quality, making them stand out among competitors.

Tehzeeb Bakers is one of those entrepreneurship stories in Pakistan which provides the inspiration and learning to all those who may be aspiring to get into entrepreneurship and come up with their own new ideas.
Probably, the success of any entrepreneurial venture rests primarily in the above mentioned four ingredients: Passion, Commitment to Quality, Differentiation and Right Pricing.
Though it is easy to say and understand the four ingredients but hard to apply for everyone.
That may be the reason that many people may be doing business, but everyone may not be hugely successful.
Let’s hope that Pakistan adds more such great entrepreneurial ventures.
